Community outreach is a big part of what we do as a high school FRC team. Our outreach team strives to engage and inspire members of the community to pursue STEM careers and to experience FIRST. Students interact personally with children, teachers, and professionals at many outreach events each year, sharing the message that FIRST is more than robots.

Decatur Robotics supports and mentors a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team at the middle school level. Space is limited so applications are required. Spots are awarded in August and the season begins in September. Please visit the Grades 7-8 (FTC) for more information.
Decatur is home to a few family run FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams. Volunteer coaches and mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Teams have achieved high honors over the years, including awards at the state championship. Teams are not run by Decatur Robotics and are not year-round. Please visit Grades 2-8 (FLL) to learn more.
Our high school team does not coach FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams. We're actively working on district awareness within City Schools of Decatur and encouraging our community of parents to help. Let your school know how much you'd love to have these programs offered. You can also work together with other families to start your own team.
